This celebration of Ms. Streisand is the continuation of a 40-year tradition at the Film Society that honors a distinguished film artist whose body of work and lifetime of achievements represent a significant contribution to the art of film. Ms. Streisand, a truly rare and groundbreaking talent, is the first woman artist to receive credit as writer, director, producer and star of a major feature film (
Yentl). She is also the first female film director to receive a Kennedy Center Honor. It is our distinct pleasure to present Ms. Streisand with the prestigious Chaplin Award.
The annual Chaplin Award Gala is the Film Society’s major fundraising event, helping to support the organization’s ongoing work in education, artist development, and cross-cultural film outreach.

The tribute will feature film clips, speeches and show-stopping musical performances by many famed actors, directors and musicians, culminating with the Award presentation to Ms. Streisand by President Bill Clinton.

I. Are tickets on sale now?Yes
II. What is the overall flow of the evening?The evening’s festivities commence with a champagne reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Gala Tribute program at 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the performance, a special supper will be created for dinner guests by Chef Daniel Boulud, followed by dancing.
III. What is the dress code?The evening’s attire is black tie.
IV. What are the ticket prices?Tribute tickets range in price from $175 - $500, and are now on sale. For VIP Gala Dinner information and pricing click

V. Are tickets tax-deductible?For Tribute tickets, the face value of each ticket less $150 is tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor as to your individual circumstance with regard to tax deductibility.
VI. How many tickets may I purchase? Between 1 and 4 tickets may be purchased by an individual ticket-buyer.
VII. After ordering, when will I receive my tickets?Tribute tickets will be mailed no later than April 15.
IX. Who will be performing or presenting at the gala?President Bill Clinton will present Ms. Streisand with the Chaplin Award at this year’s gala. Additional presenters include Pierce Brosnan, Blythe Danner, Amy Irving and Kris Kristofferson.
