Liza Minnelli has appealed to producers of Boardwalk Empire to cast her in the hit TV series after they invited the veteran entertainer to record a song for the show's soundtrack.
The Cabaret singer/actress, 67, is lending her distinctive vocals to the score for the upcoming fourth season of the period drama, and she admits landing a small part on the Prohibition-era programme would be a dream come true.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I was so thrilled to be asked to work on this project for an amazing show, with such wonderful people involved.
"Now I can only hope they would ask me to be on the show."
Boardwalk Empire, which stars Steve Buscemi, is executive produced by Martin Scorsese and Mark Wahlberg and will return to U.S. screens this autumn (13).
