On his Facebook page, Roach wrote, “Late last fall, our beloved maestro unexpectedly required emergency surgery. The outpouring of love and support that he received at that time was greatly appreciated, and still is. After much loving care he was able to return to his home in New York City for over a month, where he passed away today.”
Though Facciuto did not have a Broadway career, he danced in several classic MGM musical films, including "Singin’ in the Rain," "An American in Paris" and "On the Town."
Roach said Facciuto will be buried in his hometown of Steubenville, OH, and that a memorial celebration of his life and legacy will be announced in the near future.
