Just a few weeks after canceling an early June concert in San
Paulo due to a recurring back ailment, an additional set of
cancellations has just been released by Liza Minnelli's
team, including a weekend appearance at EVERYTHING'S COMING UP
BROADWAYWORLD.COM: A JULE STYNE TRIBUTE, and a number of European
concert dates.
Liza Minnelli's
physicians have advised her not to perform or travel for long periods
of time because of a medical condition. As a result her concerts in
Europe, which were scheduled for July, have been canceled. We are
discussing rescheduling dates at an appropriate time. Liza wants her
fans to know she is devastated not to be able to perform right now but
will see them soon.
The star was to perform in July at London's Royal Albert Hall, followed by Paris, Amsterdam and Monte Carlo. From all of us here at BroadwayWorld.com - Get Well Soon Liza!
One of the world's best-loved entertainers, Minnelli won Tony awards
for Flora, the Red Menace in 1965 and The Act in 1978, along with a
third for Best Personal Achievement, resulting from her 1974 engagement
at the Winter Garden Theatre. Nominated for an Academy Award for The
Sterile Cuckoo (1969), she won the best actress prize for her best-known
film, Cabaret (1972), which also won her a Golden Globe Award and a
BAFTA. She won an Emmy for Liza with a 'Z' (1972) and was also the
recipient of a Grammy Legend Award in 1989, making her one of the few
artists who have won entertainment's top six awards.
